Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. partners with the South African companies to Develop Mining Resource Management System in Collaboration with South Africa’s Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE).
Victoria, 07/02/2024 — Pacific GeoTech Systems Ltd. (PGTS) is delighted to announce its collaboration with the South Africa’s Department of Mineral Resources and Energy to develop a state-of-the-art mining resource management system. The company’s truePERMITTM framework software, coupled with Pacific GeoTech’s extensive expertise in land management and mining cadastre systems, has been selected for this significant project. This achievement underscores the unparalleled capabilities of PGTS’s flagship software, truePERMIT™, recognized as the premier platform for mining cadastre and land and resource registries worldwide.
Working with local South African companies, MITS Institute and Gemini GIS and Environmental Services, the collaborative effort is known as the “PMG Consortium.” This partnership combines global experience with local knowledge to tackle the major task of establishing a comprehensive cadastre for South Africa.
Andy Lang, President of PGTS, expresses confidence in the consortium’s capabilities: “We have undertaken seemingly insurmountable tasks in other countries before, and each time, we have achieved success. With the combined skills and experience of the PMG Consortium, we are poised to ensure the successful implementation of a mining cadastre system for South Africa.”
“We are honored to have been selected for this important project and excited to collaborate with the government of South Africa to develop a world-class mining licensing system,” said Eugen Toaxen, CEO of Pacific Geotech. “The selection of truePERMIT™ for the development of South Africa’s mining registry reaffirms our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that set the standard for excellence in the industry.”
A functional mining cadastral system is an online portal that transparently displays a country’s mineral and natural resource wealth. This portal serves a dual purpose by providing the public with insights into the current state of mining activities and enabling companies equipped with this knowledge to apply for various exploration or production mining rights.
The PMG Consortium is committed to delivering a robust mining resource management system that will not only meet the unique needs of South Africa but also set the standard for efficiency and transparency in mining cadastre systems globally.
